To add to a point Yatsufusa made earlier: There's a checkbox at the bottom of the submission form when you're about to post art that you can uncheck for sketches and doodles, and stuff like that. If you uncheck it the submission will still show up in your gallery and in the search, but not in the main portal. But that way you don't risk losing your scouted status.

It's the same as with half of the questions you ask your general practitioner/family doctor: "It depends." ;)
If you are referring to submissions to the Art Portal it would probably reduce your chances of getting/staying scouted. If you do not care about that and just want to host your drawings for free, then upload away.
